Award-winning stage and screen actor Greg Hicks (Oklahoma!, Coriolanus) will star in a new production inspired by Dostoyevsky’s The Dream of a Ridiculous Man at Marylebone Theatre in London.
The production is adapted and directed by Laurence Boswell (A Day in the Death of Joe Egg, Popcorn), and is set in 21st-century London.
The show centres on themes of climate change and nationalism.
Greg Hicks has played leading roles at the National, RSC and West End, including the Olivier-winning Oklahoma! at the Young Vic, Ghosts at the Sam Wanamaker Theatre and Coriolanus at the Old Vic; and with screen credits including movie blockbuster Snow White and the Huntsman.
Director Laurence Boswell said in a statement: “Dostoyevsky brings light and warmth into our world. He is the great chronicler of the troubled soul to the many who struggle with anxiety and depression – he offers a vision of hope and redemption. I’m delighted to have Greg with me to tell this wonderful story.”
The Dream of a Ridiculous Man will play at the Marylebone Theatre from 21 March to 20 April 2024.
Coming up next at Marylebone Theatre is The Most Precious of Goods from 22 January 2024, starring Samantha Spiro.
