Production photos are in for Aladdin at the Hackney Empire in East London.
Hackney’s big spectacle Christmas pantomime stars Clive Rowe as the Dame, Widow Twankey, in what is his 16th pantomime at the venue. Rowe also direct the shows.
The cast includes Natasha Lewis (This England, EastEnders) as Abby-na-zaaar!, Ruth Lynch (Aladdin, Mother Goose, Hackney Empire) as Spirit of the Ring, Fred Double (Wuthering Heights, Wise Children) as Aladdin, Isabella Mason (Summer: The Donna Summer Musical, Norwegian Creative) as Jazz, George Heyworth (Bourgeois & Maurice) as Mildew Funk and Rishi Manuel (Brief Encounter, Stephen Joseph Theatre) makes his panto debut as Wishy. The Genie is played by Hackney favourite Kat B.
The cast is completed by the talented ensemble: Zaynah Ahmed, Ben Anderson, Samuel Deghkhadirian, Christian De-Gallerie, Anna Greenwell, Charlotte Louise and Beth Sindy.
Aladdin is written by Will Brenton, based on ideas by Will Brenton and Clive Rowe. Aladdin has original music and songs by Steve Edis. Set and costume design is by Cleo Pettitt; lighting design by David W Kidd, choreography by Myles Brown; sound design by Yvonne Gilbert and musical direction, arrangements, orchestrations and supervision by Alex Maynard.
Aladdin is running at the Hackney Empire until Sunday 31 December 2023.
