A new trailer is in for the Kiln Theatre’s production of Lynn Nottage’s Mlima’s Tale.
This powerful play by Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage has enjoyed some great reviews from the critics, and positive audience reactions, and is playing at the Kiln Theatre until 21 October 2023.
Directed by Miranda Cromwell (Death of a Salesman), Mlima’s Tale stars Ira Mandela Siobhan (Robin Hood: The Legend. Re-Written, My Brilliant Friend) as Mlima, with Gabrielle Brooks (Once on This Island, Get Up Stand Up), Pui Fan Lee (Teletubbies/CBeebies) as Gouxi, Brandon Grace (Much Ado About Nothing) as Andrew, and Natey Jones (Death of a Salesman) as Geedi.

The creative team also includes design by Amelia Jane Hankin, lighting design by Amy Mae; music by Femi Temowo; Casting Director Lotte Hines CDG; Voice & Dialect Coaching by Hazel Holder; Kiln Mackintosh Resident Assistant Director Jessica Mensah.
Mlima is known as one of the last ‘Great Tuskers’ – elephants with tusks so large they touch the ground. When he is murdered for these magnificent tusks, Mlima’s ghost follows those connected to his death. From poachers, to government officials, to ivory carvers, he watches as capitalism, greed and corruption marks everyone in the ivory trade.
Mlima’s Tale is only playing at the Kiln Theatre to 21 October 2023.
