Full casting has been revealed for the Lyric Theatre dates of Death Note The Musical.
George Maguire (Bonnie and Clyde, Sunny Afternoon) will play Ryuk, with Aimie Atkinson (Pretty Woman The Musical) as Rem, Rachel Clare Chan as Sayu, Christian Ray Marbella (Miss Saigon) as Soichiro, Jessica Lee (Miss Saigon) as Misa, Joaquin Pedro Valdes (Disney’s The Lion King) as Light, Dean John-Wilson (The King and I) as L, and Carl Man (Wicked) as the alternate L.
The ensemble includes Boaz Chad, Patrick Munday, Charlotte Coggin, Jade Copas, Eu Jin Hwang, Yojiro Ichikawa, Deena Kapadia, David Kar-Hing Lee, Jasmine Leung, Jojo Meredith, Marcel Li-Ping, Janine Somcio.
This new concert version of the cult musical is initially playing the London Palladium for three sold-out performances today, 21 August 2023, and tomorrow.
The show then travels to the Lyric Theatre in the West End, running from 7 to 10 September 2023.

Death Note The Musical is based on the best-selling “Death Note” Japanese manga series by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata, and had its world premiere in Tokyo Japan in 2015. It has subsequently enjoyed three sell-out seasons in Korea.
The musical has music by Frank Wildhorn (Bonnie & Clyde, Jekyll & Hyde), lyrics by Jack Murphy (The Civil War) and book by Ivan Menchell (Bonnie & Clyde, The Nanny), and this concert production will be directed and choreographed by Nick Winston.
The story is about Light Yagami, a bright but dissatisfied high school student in Tokyo comes across a discarded notebook owned by Ryuk, a mythological god of death. Discovering he can kill anyone by just writing their names in the supernatural notebook, Light takes justice into his own hands by filling the notebook with names of the nation’s most wanted criminals. But a detective only known as “L” is soon tracking him down…
