New immersive Christmas experience Wishmas is moving to Central London.
The spectacular Christmas event from the people behind Secret Cinmea is going to run in the vast space under Waterloo station – dubbed the Old Bauble Factory for Wishmas.
The event begins on 14 November 2023 at the hidden destination, running for a limited 8 week season to 7 January 2024.
Acclaimed director Elgiva Field, former Associate Director of the ground-breaking immersive theatre company Punchdrunk and Theatre-rites, is directing the new, fully immersive event.
Wishmas: A Fantastical Christmas Adventure will feature a new, original story from the creative minds behind Secret Cinema. As you enter London’s hidden Old Bauble Factory under Waterloo station, visitors are promised a fantastical journey, including meeting the mysterious Wishkeepers, and a festive finale with Father Christmas himself.
There will also be a Wishmas Market featuring delicious treats, drinks, and Christmas gifts.
Elgiva Field said in a statement: “Supported by a world-class creative team, I can’t wait to bring a thrilling new Christmas experience into the heart of London at Waterloo, taking audiences on a magical journey into a spectacular snow-filled wonderland. Our hope is that Wishmas will become a new festive tradition for audiences of all ages!”
The Wishmas event was first announced in June 2023, and the full creative team and further information will be announced at a later date.
Secret Cinema is the trailblazing live events and immersive experience company that has created a succession of spectacular, cinematic extravaganzas, all based on existing stories. Wishmas will be their first fully original creation.
Secret Cinema are currently running a new event in Birmingham, with Grease: The Live Experience – Birmingham, based on the much loved movie, playing to 13 August 2023.
