Siva Kaneswaran has released a behind the scenes look at the music of new show La Bamba!
The clip was recorded at the National Theatre’s sound studios where the cast were laying down tracks ahead of their first performance at Curve Leicester next month.
La Bamba! is an explosive new musical starring Strictly Come Dancing champion Pasha Kovalev, The Wanted’s Siva Kaneswaran and rising star Inês Fernandez.
The show is inspired by the life of Ritchie Valens and features an electric soundtrack of Latin pop anthems such as Ricky Martin’s Livin’ La Vida Loca, Shakira’s Hips Don’t Lie, Marc Anthony’s Vivir Mi Vida, Becky G’s Fulanito, Camilla Cabello’sHavana, J-Lo’s Let’s Get Loud and many more. The out and proud juke-box musical will play a limited season at the Peacock Theatre in London from 22 August to 2 September.
Prior to its West End run the show opens at Curve in Leicester on 1 August 2023 as part of a previously announced UK tour.
Choreographed by Strictly Come Dancing favourite and Italian Latin champion Graziano Di Prima, La Bamba! is directed by multi-award-winning American director Ray Roderick, with music by award-winning Alfonso Casado-Trigo and associate choreography by Giada Lini.
The full company includes Bethan Mitchell, Stefani Ariza, Julia Ruiz Fernandez, Nicolle Matheu, Gabriella Rose-Marchant, Alex Sturman, Brendan Graham, Tristan Ghostkeeper and Luke Jarvis
