The Theatres Trust, the national advisory body for theatres in the UK, is awarding £64,000 of grants to 14 theatres, to help them future-proof their buildings.
Part of the Theatres Trust Small Grants Programme, supported by The Linbury Trust, the grants are being awarded to the Barn Theatre, Welwyn Garden City; Duchess Theatre & Chatsworth Arts Centre, Long Eaton; Hope Mill Theatre, Manchester; Lichfield Garrick Theatre; Lighthouse, Poole; Little Theatre, Gateshead; Southwold Arts Centre; The Courtyard, Hereford; The Gateway Theatre, Seaton; The MAC, Belfast; The Market Theatre, Ledbury; Mowlem Theatre, Swanage; Theatre Deli, Sheffield; and Torch Theatre, Milford Haven.
The projects that are to be funded include updating temperature control to support Torch Theatre’s Warm Space initiative; loop hearing systems at Lichfield Garrick and Theatre Deli; LED lighting at Barn Theatre, Little Theatre and Duchess Theatre; and accessible doors at Lighthouse.
