Casting has been announced for the world premiere production of Here We Are, the new – and final – musical from Stephen Sondheim.
Written by Sondheim, with a book by David Ives, Here We Are will play Off-Broadway at The Shed’s Griffin Theater from 28 September 2023 for 15 weeks to 7 January 2024.
The cast features Francois Battiste, Tracie Bennett, Bobby Cannavale, Micaela Diamond, Amber Gray,Jin Ha, Rachel Bay Jones, Denis O’Hare, Steven Pasquale, David Hyde Pierce, and Jeremy Shamos; and understudies will be Bradley Dean, Adam Harrington, Bligh Voth, Adante Carter, Mehry Eslaminia, and Lindsay Nicole Chambers.
Originally announced back in March, the show will be directed by two-time Tony Award winner Joe Mantello, and is inspired by two movies – The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie and The Exterminating Angel, by Luis Buñuel.
Joining Joe Mantello in the creative team are choreography by Sam Pinkleton, set design and costume design by David Zinn, lighting design by Natasha Katz, sound design by Tom Gibbons, orchestrations by Jonathan Tunick, musical direction and supervision by Alexander Gemignani, hair design by Wigmakers Associates, and casting by The Telsey Office.
