The Royal Court Theatre has released behind-the-scenes photos of rehearsals for its forthcoming new comedy Cuckoo.
Olivier and BAFTA Award-winning playwright Michael Wynne returns to the Royal Court with this new dark comedy, in a production directed by Royal Court Artistic Director Vicky Featherstone, and in partnership with Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse.
The cast features Michelle Butterly, Emma Harrison, Sue Jenkins and Jodie McNee.
Joining Vicky Featherstone in the creative team are design by Peter McKintosh, lighting design by Jai Morjaria and sound design by Nick Powell.
Playwright Michael Wynne said: “Cuckoo follows three generations of a matriarchal family as they try to live their lives in what can feel like difficult and crazy times. They’re dealing with financial insecurity, economic decline, all pervasive technology and the potential impact of climate change – amongst other things.”
Cuckoo is playing at the Royal Court Theatre from 6 July to 19 August 2023.
