Full casting announced for Rock Follies at Chichester Festival Theatre

Full casting has been announced for Rock Follies which premieres at Chichester’s Minerva Theatre this July.

Based on the ground-breaking TV series written by Howard Schuman, with a book by Chloë Moss and songs by Howard Schuman and Andy Mackay, this punchy new musical promises a rousing, riotous rollercoaster of woman power!

Previously announced cast include stars Carly Bawden (Carousel, Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, My Fair Lady, Sheffield Crucible) as Anna and Zizi Strallen, fresh from playing the title role in Mary Poppins in the West End, as Q. As well as Samuel Barnett (The History Boys, Olivier and Tony-nominated; The Lady in the Van; Twenty Twelve), Tamsin Carroll (Hex, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie), and Fred Haig (Tammy Faye, A Christmas Carol).

Completing the cast are: Angela Marie Hurst (as Dee), Stephenson Ardern-Sodje, Bella Brown, Tamsin Carroll, Collette Guitart, Peter Houston, Matthew Malthouse, Antoine Murray-Straughan, Philippa Stefani, Sebastien Torkia and Harriet Watson.

The premise of the show is: Fed up with the male-dominated entertainment industry, Anna, Dee and Q take the future into their own hands and form a rock band – the ironically named ‘Little Ladies’. And so begins the musical helter-skelter ride of a lifetime. Can principles and ambition co-exist? And can their friendship survive in the dog-eat-dog world of rock?

Rock Follies is directed by Dominic Cooke with set design by Vicki Mortimer, costume design by Kinnetia Isidore, choreography by Carrie-Anne Ingrouille, musical supervision and arrangements by Nigel Lilley, musical direction by Toby Higgins, lighting design by Paule Constable, and casting by Pippa Ailion CDG and Natalie Gallacher CDG.

Rock Follies is playing in the Minerva Theatre at Chichester Festival Theatre from 24 July to 26 August 2023.
