Following his TV searches to cast the stars of Joseph, The Sound of Music, Oliver! and The Wizard of Oz, Andrew Lloyd Webber has launched his most ambitious TV talent search yet.

In Superstar, the Lord has moved over to ITV1 to launch his new search to find a Jesus to star in a major new Arena tour production of his and Tim Rice’s classic musical Jesus Christ Superstar.

And free tickets are now available to be in the TV studio audience to watch the live finals of the TV show. Now available for Monday 16th, Tuesday 17th, Wednesday 18th, Thursday 19th and Friday 20th July, starting at 8pm, the shows are recorded live. More dates for tickets are to be released soon.

The nationwide search for a rock arena superstar will result in one man cast in the show, alongside comedian and Matilda co-writer Tim Minchin as Judas, Spice Girl Melanie C as Mary Magdalene and Radio 1 Breakfast Show host Chris Moyles as Herod.

The TV show starts this Saturday 7th July 2012 on ITV1 at 7.25pm, featuring the auditions that have taken place Nationwide over the last few months.
