Photos: Brokeback Mountain starring Mike Faist & Lucas Hedges – in pictures

Production photos have been released for Mike Faist and Lucas Hedges in Brokeback Mountain at Soho Place theatre in London.

Adapted from Annie Proulx’s classic novel by Ashley Robinson, and directed by Jonathan Butterell, Brokeback Mountain plays at @sohoplace until 12 August 2023.

Academy Award nominated Lucas Hedges (Manchester By The Sea, Boy Erased) stars as Ennis, alongside Tony nominated actor Mike Faist (Dear Evan Hansen, West Side Story) as Jack, with Emily Fairn (The Responder) as Alma, Paul Hickey as Older Ennis, Martin Marquez as Joe/Bill/Jack’s Father and Eddi Reader (Fairground Attraction) as The Balladeer, who sings songs by Dan Gillespie Sells (The Feeling) alongside the play’s action.

Set in Wyoming, US, in 1963, when Ennis and Jack take jobs on the isolated Brokeback Mountain, all their certainties of life change forever as they flounder in unexpected emotional waters of increasing depth. Dan Gillespie Sells’ beautiful Country and Western songs weave heartbreakingly through this intense tale of an irresistible and hidden love spanning twenty years and its tragic consequences.

The creative team also includes Tom Pye (Set & Costume Design), David Finn (Lighting Design), Christopher Shutt (Sound Design), Shaheen Baig (Casting Director), Tommy Ross-Williams (Intimacy Director), Kevin McCurdy (Fight Director), Phil Wilding (Production Manager), Zeb Lalljee (Costume Supervisor), Sam Cox (Wigs Maker/Supervisor), Lily Mollgaard (Props Supervisor), and Mary Irwin and Ben Furey (Vocal/Dialect Coach).
