Rebecca Collingwood to join Michael Xavier in Roman Holiday

Further casting and creatives have been announced for Theatre Royal Bath’s forthcoming new musical Roman Holiday.

Previously announced was Michael Xavier (My Fair Lady, Sunset Boulevard), who is playing American journalist Joe in this musical adaptation of the classic Oscar-winning movie starring Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck.

Joining Xavier will be Rebecca Collingwood as the young Princess Ann.

Collingwood recently starred in the Orange Tree Theatre’s revival of Arms and the Man, and other credits include While The Sun Shines and Widowers’ Houses.

The show features music by Cole Porter, including his classics  Easy To Love, You Do Something To Me, In The Still Of The Night, Just One Of Those Things and Night and Day.

Roman Holiday will be directed by two-time Olivier Award winner Jeremy Sams (Noises Off, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang),  and is adapted by Kirsten Guenther and Paul Blake, who co-wrote the West End production of Irving Berlin’s White Christmas.

Other creatives include Choreography by Matt Cole and Jane McMurtie, Set and Costume design by Francis O’Connor, Lighting design by Mark Henderson, Sound design by Tom Marshall, and Casting by Ginny Schiller CDG.

Roman Holiday plays the Theatre Royal Bath from 10 June to 1 July 2023. There’s no current news of a West End transfer for the show.
