Brokeback Mountain – listen to a song from the new play with music

Brokeback Mountain has released a song from the new play with music, which premieres at @sohoplace theatre from 10 May 2023.

In the video, Eddi Reader sings ‘Sharing Your Heart’. The context of the song is that Alma, played by Emily Fairn, realises that her husband, Ennis Del Mar, played by Lucas Hedges, also loves another.

The play with music stars Tony and BAFTA Award nominated Mike Faist (Dear Evan Hansen, West Side Story) as Jack, and Academy Award nominated Lucas Hedges (Manchester By The Sea, Boy Erased) as Ennis, alongside Emily Fairn (The Responder) as Alma, Paul Hickey as Older Ennis and Martin Marquez as Joe/Bill/Jack’s Father.

The play features Eddi Reader (Fairground Attraction) as The Balladeer, who sings alongside the show’s action with her band.

The songs are written by Dan Gillespie Sells (The Feeling), who reunites with director Jonathan Butterell following their success with musical Everybody’s Talking About Jamie.

Brokeback Mountain is adapted from Annie Proulx’s novel by Ashley Robinson.

Also in the creative team is Tom Pye (Set & Costume Design), David Finn (Lighting Design), Christopher Shutt (Sound Design), Shaheen Baig (Casting Director), Tommy Ross-Williams (Intimacy Director), Kevin McCurdy (Fight Director), Phil Wilding (Production Manager), Zeb Lalljee (Costume Supervisor), Sam Cox (Wigs Maker/Supervisor), Lily Mollgaard (Props Supervisor), and Mary Irwin and Ben Furey (Vocal/Dialect Coach).

Brokeback Mountain plays at @sohoplace theatre from 10 May to 12 August 2023.
