West End actress Laura Pick will play Elphaba in the UK tour of Wicked, it has been announced.
Laura previously played the role in the West End for over 350 performances starring opposite Sophie Evans as Glinda and Alistair Brammer as Fiyero. Other lead casting for the tour is to be announced.
Laura will perform one of the musical’s most iconic songs tonight, ‘Defying Gravity’, as the BBC records ‘Big Night of Musicals’ at Manchester’s AO Arena. The television broadcast of the musical extravaganza is set for the Spring.
The spectacular touring production opens this Christmas at the Edinburgh Playhouse, where it has already sold 70,000 tickets, and continues to Bristol, Birmingham, Bradford, Southampton, Liverpool, Dublin, Sunderland, Cardiff, and Manchester.
