Strictly Champion Joanne Clifton to make play stage debut in new comedy Windfall

Joanne Clifton will make her play stage debut in new comedy Windfall at Southwark Playhouse.

Joanne, who as a professional dancer won ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ in 2016, has gone on to star in several stage musicals, including as Morticia Addams in ‘The Addams Family’, Berthe/Fastrada in ‘Pippin’, Janet in ‘The Rocky Horror Show’ and Alex in ‘Flashdance’.

Joining Clifton will be Judith Amsenga (Cluedo UK Tour), Audrey Anderson (Noises Off, US), Jack Bennett (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, West End), Wesley Griffith (Cluedo UK Tour) and Gabriel Paul (The Play That Goes Wrong, West End).

Windfall arrives at London’s Southwark Playhouse following a critically acclaimed run in New York in 2022.  It is written by Scooter Pietsch and directed by Mark Bell, best known for directing West End hits The Play That Goes Wrong & The Comedy About a Bank Robbery.

Billed as a hilarious comedy, the show follows a group of co-workers pushed to the edge by their maniacal boss who decide to risk it all on a $500 million lottery ticket. Friends become enemies when the prospect of winning brings out the worst in people

It previews from Thursday 9 February and runs for five weeks to Saturday 11 March at Southwark Playhouse Borough.
