Aria Entertainment, founded by producer Katy Lipson in 2012, is offering a unique opportunity for writers of new stage musicals.
On Monday 13th and Tuesday 14th March 2023, Katy will be hosting the first-ever Open Pitching Day in central London.
This event gives writers the chance to present their new musicals, at any stage of development, to Katy and Aria’s Literary Manager, Tom Ramsay. This will be the first of two annual opportunities for writers to directly connect with the team and share their work.
Katy has a long-standing reputation as a champion of new musicals. Over the last 10 years, she has produced more than 80 productions in the West End, Off-West End and across the UK, including the successful From Page To Stage festival for six years and the recent premiere of ‘Claus’ at the Lowry in Salford.
Writers can sign up for 15-minute slots at bit.ly/ariapitchingday, and the process operates on a first-come, first-served basis. On the day of the event, writers are expected to perform their own work or play demos, with a minimum of one original song. Pitches should be no longer than 10 minutes, leaving at least five minutes for feedback and conversation.
This is a unique chance for writers to connect with the Aria Entertainment team and showcase their work. For all inquiries, please email tom[@] aria-entertainment.com. The team is looking forward to making new connections and learning about your musicals.
