The London production of To Kill A Mockingbird has announced its final West End extension with the show set to close on 20 May 2023.
Aaron Sorkin’s Tony Award winning adaptation of Harper Lee’s novel, directed by Bartlett Sher (My Fair Lady, The King and I), opened in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, and will have run for over a year when it completes its run.
The 32 strong current cast, led by American film star Matthew Modine as Atticus Finch, will continue with the run.
Harper Lee’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, published in 1960, explores racial injustice in America and features one of the most iconic characters in literary history – small-town lawyer Atticus Finch – famously portrayed on screen by Gregory Peck.
Nominated for 3 WhatsOnStage Awards, including Best New Play, the production has played to over 400,000 patrons thus far. The Broadway production became the most successful play on Broadway ever playing to full-houses night after night. It’s run was unfortunately curtailed by the pandemic.
