Ahead of its world premiere at The Lowry in Salford Manchester this December, producers of Claus The Musical have released two music videos of the cast singing songs from the show.
The festive music videos feature the cast singing ‘The Miracle of Christmas’ and ‘The Children’ for the first time.
Claus The Musical is based on L. Frank Baum’s children’s novel The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus. The musical has been adapted for the stage my Simon Warne and features music and lyrics by Andy Collyer. Baum’s other novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz – made into the legendary film starring Judy Garland – is also the source material for the international smash-hit musical Wicked.
The world premiere production will star Georgie Buckland (Necile), Junior Delius (AK), Chris Draper (Will Knook), Jazz Evans (Awgwa), Jessica Lim (Shiegra), Mari McGinlay (Zurline), Alwyne Taylor (Narrator), Corrine Priest (The Fairy Queen), Harry Winchester (Claus).Emily George, Michael Kholwadia, Nic Cain, Emily Tang and Simon Oskarsson complete the cast in the ensemble.
Directed by Kate Golledge, the creative team includes Alex Beetschen (Musical Director), Stewart J Charlesworth (Set and Costume Design), Aaron Dootson (Lighting Design), Jane Deitch (Casting Director), Andrew Johnson (Sound Designer) and Lucinda Lawrence (Choreography). Claus the Musical is co-produced by Jason Haigh-Ellery.
Claus The Musical is booking from 14 December 2022 until 8 January 2023 at The Lowry, Salford Quays, Manchester.
