Apple Original Films have released a trailer for the upcoming Christmas film Spirited starring Deadpool’s Ryan Reynolds and Anchor Man and Elf’s Will Ferrell. The musical comedy, a twist on Dickens’ A Christmas Carol shown from the perspective of the ghosts features the pair tap dancing, in what promises to be a heart-warming festive treat.
Sean Anders directs a script by Anders and John Morris, with choreography from Chloe Arnold, with original music from Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the composers from such hits as The Dear Evan Hansen, The Greatest Showman and La La Land.
In Anders script each Christmas eve, the Ghost of Christmas Present (Will Ferrell) selects one dark soul to be reformed by a visit from three spirits. But this season, he picked the wrong Scrooge. Clint Briggs (Ryan Reynolds) turns the tables on his ghostly host until Present finds himself reexamining his own past, present and future.
Also in the cast are Patrick Page, Sunita Mani, Loren Woods, Joe Tippett, Marlow Barkley and Jen Tullock.
The film is set to premiere in theaters on 11 November in America and globally on Apple TV+ on 18 November.
