Theatre and film composers Benj Pasek and Justin Paul have boarded the creative team for new film Spirited.
The Dear Evan Hansen, The Greatest Showman and La La Land composers have written original songs for the musical comedy, which stars Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool), Will Ferrell (Anchorman, Elf) and Octavia Spencer (The Witches, The Help).
Written by Sean Anders (Daddy’s Home, Instant Family) and John Morris with direction by Anders, Spirited is a new twist on Charles Dickens classic A Christmas Carol. This modern retelling of Dickens’ festive treat is told from the perspective the ghosts. The film also feature a number of existing tunes by existing artists.
Also in the cast are Patrick Page, Sunita Mani, Loren Woods, Joe Tippett, Marlow Barkley and Jen Tullock.
The film is set to premiere in theaters on 11 November in America and globally on Apple TV+ on 18 November.
