A Strange Loop, Michael R Jackson’s Pulitzer Prize for Drama winning musical has posted closing notices in New York.
The musical will play its final performance at Broadway’s Lyceum Theatre on 15 January 2023, having played 301 regular and 13 preview performances. The show opened on Broadway on 26 April 2022 winning critical acclaim; it went on to win the Tony Award for Best Musical and Best Book for Michael R Jackson.
Set to a bouncy Broadway beat with vibrant songs and cutting lyrics, this razor-sharp musical is a quirky, comically entertaining metafictional piece about identity, race and sexuality.
“Though A Strange Loop is not autobiographical, it is my life’s work, as such, I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to share this raw, vulnerable, and personal story with the world and to have connected with so many enthusiastic, loving audiences.” said Michael R Jackson.
A Strange Loop is rumoured to open in London’s West End in 2023/2024.
