American actor and filmmaker Matthew Modine last starred in the West End in To Kill A Mockingbird at the Gielgud Theatre in London.
The Golden Globe Award winner, multi-Emmy award nominee and star of the hit Netflix series Stranger Things plays Atticus Finch from 21 November 2023.
Matthew Modine’s films include Alan Parker’s Birdy, Vision Quest, Stanley Kubrick’s Full Metal Jacket, and most recently Dr. Martin “Papa” Brenner in the global phenomenon Stranger Things.
On stage, Matthew Modine has appeared in Arthur Miller’s Finishing the Picture at Chicago’s Goodman Theatre, in Miller’s Resurrection Blues at London’s Old Vic, and in a stage adaptation of Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird (as Atticus Finch) at Connecticut’s Hartford Stage.
In 2010, he starred with Abigail Breslin in the 50th Anniversary Broadway revival of The Miracle Worker at the Circle in the Square theatre and in fall 2013, he starred in a self-parodying comedy, Matthew Modine Saves the Alpacas at Los Angeles’ Geffen Theatre.
