New musical Glory Ride will have its world premiere at The Other Palace theatre in London this November.
Based on a true story, Glory Ride reveals the untold story of an Italian Tour de France winner who uses his fame and bicycle to save hundreds of children from Mussolini’s Fascists. Set in the Tuscan hills in WWII the musical combines heist, history, humour, and humanity.
To date the show has been workshopped in New York and LA and will be presented as a staged concert at The Other Palace in London, playing 3 performances from 14 November 2022.
Featuring music, lyrics and a book by Victoria and Todd Buchholz and direction by Shaun Kerrison, Glory Ride is backed by members of the original producers of Jersey Boys.
Victoria Buchholz, writer, has said, “we call it Les Mis meets Ocean’s Eleven…This fascinating story could rewrite how the world remembers the Italian Resistance during World War II.” She discovered the extraordinary story of Gino Bartali while traveling throughout the villages of Tuscany.
Glory Ride is directed by Shaun Kerrison with musical direction by Greg Jarret, video design by PJ McEvoy, sound design by Keegan Curran and lighting design and production management by Dickson Cossar.
Glory Ride will run from 14-16 November 2022 at The Other Palace, London.
