Netflix has released the new movie musical version of hit Broadway show 13: The Musical.
Released worldwide today, 12 August 2022, the movie stars Eli Golden, Gabriella Uhl, JD McCrary, Frankie McNellis, Lindsey Blackwell, Jonathan Lengel, Ramon Reed, Nolen Dubuc, Luke Islam, Shechinah Mpumlwana, Kayleigh Cerezo, Wyatt Moss, Liam Wignall, Khiyla Aynne, plus Emmy Award-winning actresses Debra Messing and Rhea Perlman.
The show centres on Evan Goldman (Eli Golden), who after his parent’s divorce moves from New York City to small-town Indiana. As his 13th birthday nears, he must master the complex social circles of his new school and win friends by turning his Bar Mitzvah into the coolest party ever.
The groundbreaking 2008 Broadway musical starred Graham Phillips, and was the professional debuts of Ariana Grande and Elizabeth Gillies.
Tony Award winner Robert Horn has adapted the script for the movie based on the book he co-wrote with Dan Elish for the original Broadway version of 13. Three-time Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown has also composed new music; and Tamra Davis directs.
