Photos First Look: Ian McKellen in the new dance version of Hamlet

Photos have been released of Sir Ian McKellen and Johan Christiansen in Hamlet at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland.

Ian McKellen and dancer Johan Christiansen share the role of the Danish prince in this special production of Hamlet which is staged with the Edinburgh Festival Ballet Company.

Other artists performing include Luke Schaufuss, Stefan Wise and artists from the Edinburgh Festival Ballet.

The creative team is made up of director and choreographer Peter Schaufuss, with original music composed by Ethan Lewis Maltby, and production design by Ben M Rogers.

The beanie hat worn by Ian McKellen in the show will be auctioned after every performance in Edinburgh. The first HAMLET beanie raised £450 to support a bursary fund bearing his name to help future young dance students at Edinburgh Festival Ballet School.

Hamlet will run at Ashton Hall at Saint Stephens Edinburgh during the 2022 Edinburgh Fringe Festival until 28 August 2022.
