POTTED POTTER
The Unauthorised Harry Experience – A Parody by Dan and Jeff Fifth
Anniversary Tour: July – September 2011
Written and performed by Daniel Clarkson and Jefferson Turner
Directed by Richard Hurst – Designed by Simon Scullion – Composed by Phil Innes
Coinciding with the release of the final Harry Potter film, Olivier nominated double‐act Dan and Jeff return to their first show, Potted Potter, for a fifth anniversary tour including West End dates.
Perhaps the best–‐loved of their three acclaimed family entertainments, Potted Potter has sold out theatres in Australia, New Zealand, London, Edinburgh and all over the UK. Dan and Jeff return to the show to take on the ultimate challenge of potting all seven Harry Potter books into seventy madcap minutes. They are helped by endless costumes, brilliant songs, ridiculous props, a generous helping of Hogwarts magic and the audience, as everyone is invited to join in with a real life game of Quidditch!
Whether you queued outside a bookshop for three days with a thermos and sleeping bag for release of The Deathly Hallows or you don’t know the difference between a horcrux and a humbug, the slapstick, magic and mayhem of Potted Potter makes for an entertaining time.
Dan and Jeff originally ‘potted’ some of the creations from JK Rowling’s world when they were asked to create a five-minute performance for a bookshop, to launch the sixth book. Regular appearances as story-tellers on Blue Peter followed and they featured on BBC1 as CBBC presenters in 2008 and 2009. Dan and Jeff have been bringing the best in family entertainment to the stage since 2006. Potted Potter saw them win widespread acclaim and a fan base that crossed three generations. It played four sell‐out Fringe seasons, three sell–‐out London seasons and extensive national and international tours. In 2008 they premiered their second show, Potted Pirates, which followed a similar successful path and still tours the UK.
They launched their third show, Potted Panto at Edinburgh Fringe 2010. The show played London’s Vaudeville for Christmas 2010, and was recently nominated as Best Entertainment in the Olivier Awards.
