Fisayo Akinade in Slave Play

Fisayo Akinade stars in Slave Play at the Noel Coward Theatre in London.

Fisayo Akinade is a British actor, best known for his roles as Dean in Cucumber and Banana on Channel 4 and Mr Ajayi in Heartstopper. Fisayo trained at Central School of Speech and Drama in London.

Fisayo recently played Reverend Hale in The Crucible at the National Theatre this Summer.

On stage Fisayo Akinade has also appeared in Romeo & JulietThe AntipodesAntony and Cleopatra and Barber Shop Chronicles, all at the National Theatre in London; The Glow, Pigs and Dogs and The Crossing Plays, all at the Royal Court; Shipwreck at the Almeida; The Way of the World, Saint Joan, for which he won an Ian Charleson Award second prize, and The Vote, all at the Donmar Warehouse; The Tempest at Shakespeare’s Globe; Barbarians at the Young Vic; As You Like It, for which he received an Ian Charleson Award nomination, at the New Wolsey, Ipswich; Refugee Boy and Waiting for Godot at West Yorkshire Playhouse; and Neighbours at HighTide.

Fisayo’s TV credits include Dangerous Liaisons, Heartstopper, Atlanta, Martin’s Close, A Very English Scandal, In the Dark, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Ordinary Lies, Cucumber, Banana and Fresh Meat.

His film credits include: The Personal History of David Copperfield, The Isle and The Girl with All the Gifts.
