Rob & Romesh take on the West End on Sky auditioning for Disney’s The Lion King

On TV tonight, 5 May 2022, is Rob & Romesh vs the West End on Sky Max.

The popular Sky series, produced by CPL Productions, sees comedians Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan dip their toes into the unknown and take on all kinds of unlikely “firsts”.

This week’s mission is auditioning for Disney’s The Lion King in the West End, which turns out to be especially gruelling – something that anyone who has performed on stage in a West End musical knows well!

As Rob and Romesh try to crack the world of musicals and land their big break in a West End show, they are advised by lots of musicals stars – including Samantha Barks, currently starring as Elsa in Frozen the Musical at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane. She tells that them “musical performers are athletes,” and that is so true!
