First look: Anyone Can Whistle at the Southwark Playhouse

Production photos are in for the new revival of Stephen Sondheim’s Anyone Can Whistle at the Southwark Playhouse.

The show is now playing at Southwark Playhouse until 7 May 2022.

Arthur Laurents and Stephen Sondheim’s rarely produced musical is a political satire about conformity and how those considered ‘other’ can be ostracised in society. This funny, subversive musical is set in a fictional town where the government controls everything, even the miracles.

This new production is directed by Georgie Rankcom.

The cast includes Alex Young as Cora Hoover Hooper, Chrystine Symone as Nurse Fay Apple, Jordan Broatch as J Bowden Hapgood, Danny Lane as Comptroller Schub, Samuel Clifford as Treasurer Cooley, Renan Teodoro as Chief of Police Magrueder, Nathan Taylor as Dr Detmold, Kathryn Akin as Mrs Schroeder, Marisha Morgan as Baby Joan, Teddy Hinde as John, Hana Ichijo as June, Shane Convery as George and Jensen Tudtud as Martin.
