Casting have been announced for the West End revival of Legally Blonde The Musical, coming to Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre from 13 May to 2 July 2022.
Directed by Lucy Moss, the musical is part of Regent’s Park’s 90th anniversary season which will also see the premiere of 101 Dalmatians and a retelling of Antigone. Moss – co-writer and co-director of Six – became the youngest woman ever to direct a musical on Broadway when Six opened last month.
Courtney Bowman has been cast in the lead role of Elle Woods. Her previous credits include SIX The Musical, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, Blondel and The Wind in the Willows, plus onscreen as Small in hit children’s CBeebies show Big Cook Little Cook.
Also joining the cast are Michael Ahomka-Lindsay (Emmett), Lauren Drew (Brooke), Vanessa Fisher (Vivienne), Isaac Hesketh (Margot), Nadine Higgin (Paulette), Alžbeta Matyšáková (Enid), Eugene McCoy (Callahan), Grace Mouat (Pilar), Alistair Toovey (Warner), and Hannah Yun Chamberlain (Serena).
Legally Blonde has music and lyrics by Laurence O’Keefe and Nell Benjamin, a book by Heather Hach, and is based on the novel by Amanda Brown and the MGM movie that starred Reese Witherspoon. Legally Blonde The Musical premiered on Broadway in 2007 earning several Tony nominations before transferring to the Savoy Theatre in London’s West End in 2009. The hugely successful West End run was headlined by Sheridan Smith and was nominated for 5 Olivier Awards, winning 3 including Best New Musical.

The Regent’s Park Open Air 90th anniversary season will also see the long-awaited world premiere of 101 Dalmatians and a contemporary retelling of Antigone by Barber Shop Chronicles writer Inua Ellams.
Legally Blonde The Musical will run from Friday 13 May 2022 – Saturday 2 July 2022 at Regents Park Open Air Theatre, London.
