Hit comedy Bad Jews returns to the Arts Theatre in London’s West End

Joshua Harmon’s ‘blisteringly funny‘ The Times comedy Bad Jews will return to London’s West End this Summer for an 11-week run at the Arts Theatre. Tickets on sale soon.

Premiering in New York in 2012, the show transferred to the UK in 2014 where it toured nationally before celebrating two sold-out engagements in London’s West End

The original production was directed by Michael Longhurst, designed by Richard Kent, lighting design by Richard Howell and sound design by Adrienne Quartly. This revival of that production will be directed by Jon Pashley.

The play centres on the death of a beloved grandfather and who is to inherit a treasured family heirloom with religious significance.  Who is the most deserving?  Bossy, overbearing, fanatically religious Daphna? Her wealthy cousin Liam who’s just returned from skiing with his non-Jewish girlfriend Melody? Or Jonah, his brother, who would prefer not to get involved in the fight?

Set in a cramped Manhattan apartment on the night after the funeral what ensues is a viciously hilarious quarrel about family, faith and legacy.

Casting is still to be announced. Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Award-winning playwright Joshua Harmon’s other stage credits include Significant Other, Admissions, Skintight, and Ivanka: A Medea For Right Now.

Bad Jews will run from 14 July 2022 until 25 September 2022 at the Arts Theatre, London.
