The hit Netflix comedy Call My Agent, which is the French TV comedy Dix Pour Cent (Ten Percent), is to get a musical adaptation.
The show has had 4 acclaimed seasons on TF1 in France and Netflix globally, and has spawned multiple adaptations including a UK version shot in 2021 called Ten Percent (pictured), which is set to air on Amazon Prime this year starring Harry Trevaldwy, Jim Broadbent, Jack Davenport, Lydia Leonard, Maggie Steed, Prasanna Puwanarajah, Hiftu Quasem, Fola Evans-Akingbola, and Rebecca Humphries.
The new musical is being developed by Kindred Partners and Calamity Films, and the producers are aiming for a 2024 London debut.
Apparently Call My Agent’s French producer Michel Feller has given the theatre producers free reign to adapt the show for the stage.
Kindred Partners was set up last year by West End producer Adam Kenwright and former American Repertory Theater executive producer Diane Borger, and co-founder Claudia Brunning, co-founders and partners Amanda Murray, and Chris Ryan, and partner Luke Johnson. The big-hitting team plans to shake up the theatre industry, and deal in production and creative development.

Call My Agent is about the partners of a talent agency who juggle tricky situations (and actors!) , and skillfully combine art and business,, all whilst struggling to save their agency after the sudden death of its founder. The TV series is famous for its celebrity cameos, with stars of stage and screen making guests appearances each week as clients of the talent agency.
It’s unknown whether the musical stage version will take a leaf from the TV series, and add in famous cameos to the stage production – but it would make sense!
Adam Kenwright of Kindred Partners told the press that, “We are so excited about bringing Call My Agent! to life in a new West End musical. We believe we can produce a brand-new musical that can deliver wit, comedy and high drama with the romance of Paris.”
David Livingstone of Calamity Films has said, “We are thrilled to be creating this brand-new musical production of Call My Agent!. The show has got to feel like it’s transformed into something different, highlighting issues of empowerment, the troubles that stardom can bring, and ensure the agents are at the heart of the story throughout.”
Michel Feller of Mon Voisin Productions has said, “The TV show has been so successful across the globe that Kindred Partners and Calamity Films need to be totally free to make the best show they can. We have a very good mix between comedy and emotions. It’s a family, in a crazy little company.”
As with the TV show, there are plans to have a special guest star in the new musical production each week. The creative team for the new stage production of Call My Agent! The Musical will be announced later this year, with plans for the production to launch in London in late 2024.
The original TV production of Call My Agent was created by Fanny Herrero, and produced by Dominique Besnehard, Cédric Klapisch, Michel Feller, Aurelien Larger and Harold Valentin. It launched in France in 2015, and after four series, a 90-minute TV film is now in the works.
