Olivier Awards to be hosted by Jason Manford

Jason Manford clearly did a great job at hosting the Big Night of Musicals last week!

The Society of London Theatre has once again asked him to host the annual Olivier Awards – the most important awards in the UK theatre calendar.

This year’s awards will take place live and in person on Sunday 10 April at the Royal Albert Hall, with a TV broadcast by ITV and radio coverage by Magic.

New this year, awards sponsors Mastercard has pledged to plant a tree for every public ticket sold to the show.

SOLT is also offering four lucky interns the chance to work on the show, will applications to be made by 14 February.

Julian Bird, outgoing chief executive of the Society of London Theatre and executive producer of the awards, told the press that: “After two years of our industry fighting to survive through upheaval and uncertainty, it is a privilege to be able to announce details of the 2022 Olivier Awards. It will no doubt be a hugely emotional evening – a chance to celebrate the best of the London stage and pay tribute to the tenacity, innovation, and irrepressible spirit of our theatre community.”
