West End hit play The Kite Runner will transfer to Broadway this Summer, beginning performances at the Helen Hayes Theatre on 6 July.
An unforgettable theatrical tour-de-force based on Khaled Hosseini’s internationally best-selling novel, the show has played two seasons in the West End and undertaken several UK tours. Directed by Giles Croft and adapted by Matthew Spangler, the critically acclaimed production was seen by over 100,000 people in London’s West End.
Casting for the Broadway production is to be announced.
Originally published in 2003, The Kite Runner became a bestseller across the globe and has since been published in 70 countries, selling 31.5 million copies in 60 languages. Set in Afghanistan, the play is a haunting tale of friendship spanning cultures and continents, that follows one man’s journey to confront his past and find redemption.
Hailed as “an enthralling tale beautifully told” by The Daily Telegraph, performances will begin on 6 July 2022; opening night is 21 July and it will run through 30 October 2022.
