Monica Bellucci as Maria Callas

Monica Bellucci to make West End stage debut in Maria Callas – Letters & Memoirs – now to run in April 2022

Italian screen star and Bond girl Monica Bellucci will make her West End stage debut in Maria Callas – Letters & Memoirs, a one-off performance at Her Majesty’s Theatre.

Published in 2019, Maria Callas Letters & Memoirs wove together more than 350 unpublished letters spanning 1946-1977 with her unfinished memoirs. It was a moving and fascinating self-portrait of the greatest voice of the 20th century.

To celebrate the publication of the book ‘Maria Callas Letters & Memoirs’, Monica Bellucci took to the stage for the first time to deliver a series of exceptional readings at Studio Marigny in Paris that revealed the essence of an extraordinary woman who rose from humble beginnings in New York City to become an international superstar and one of the greatest artists of all time.

Now she brings her critically acclaimed evening to London’s West End for one night only playing at Her Majesty’s Theatre on Sunday 24  April at 7.30pm.

Bellucci is known for her performances in Francis Ford Coppola’s gothic romance film Bram Stoker’s Dracula; the Italian-language romantic drama Malèna; The Apartment; the controversial Gaspar Noé arthouse horror film Irréversible; Mel Gibson’s biblical drama The Passion of the Christ; cult sci-fi films The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolution; and for playing the unforgettable Bond girl Lucia Sciarr in Spectre

Tickets for Maria Callas Letters & Memoirs are on sale.

Update 16 December 2021: This article has been amended to reflect a new performance date. The show was originally scheduled to run on Monday 20 December 2021. This performance will now take place in Sunday 24  April at 7.30pm.
