Ahead of its run at The Old Vic this October, the reimagined Martin Guerre has released a first listen of a brand new song, “Someday,” from Les Misérables creators Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg.

This October, an all-new version of the Olivier Award-winning musical Martin Guerre comes to the Old Vic, directed by Matthew Warchus. From Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg, the creators of Les Misérables, the musical is loosely based on the true story of a 16th-century French peasant who returns to his family in 1551 after nine years fighting in the war. His wife accepts him back, especially since he’s a changed and better man, but doubts about his true identity bother the townfolk…

This reworked revival will include new lyrics alongside folk-inflected orchestrations, and places Bertrande’s choices at the emotional heart of the show.

A first listen has now been released of a brand new song, “Someday,” from Boublil and Schönberg. Performed by Liv Andrusier, who plays Bertrande, and Chris Poon, the production’s Musical Supervisor, the song offers a taste of what to expect from this reimagining of the Olivier Award-winning musical.
