The Last Wild in London and on tour
The Last Wild will be based on Piers Torday’s best-selling eco-thriller series of novels, adapted by Jude Christian (Titus Andronicus). In a future where animals no longer exist, 12-year-old Kester lives in a silent, quarantined world, until one night a flock of excited pigeons and a bossy cockroach start talking to him. The story is an epic adventure about courage, friendship and fighting for a world worth saving.
The show, designed for primary school and family audiences, will be directed by Unicorn Artistic Director Rachel Bagshaw (The Duchess of Malfi), and produced by the National Theatre in a co-production with the Unicorn Theatre.
The Last Wild is the Unicorn’s first co-production with the National Theatre, and its stint at the theatre will be followed by a nationwide tour in 2027. The tour opens on 17 March 2027 at Theatre Royal Plymouth.
