New production images have been released for the anniversary revival of Lucy Kirkwood’s The Children, directed by Rachel O’Riordan and starring Meera Syal, Declan Conlon and Kerry Fox. This new production at the Lyric Hammersmith marks marking the play’s 10th anniversary.

Brand new images have been released of Meera Syal, Declan Conlon and Kerry fox in Lucy Kirkwood’s The Children, now playing at the Lyric Hammersmith until 3 October 2026.

The new production, directed by Lyric Hammersmith Theatre’s Artistic Director Rachel O’Riordan, marking the play’s 10th anniversary. Funny, tense and deeply compelling, The Children remains one of the most powerful and thought-provoking British plays of recent years.

It follows Hazel and Robin, who live on the edge of a radiation exclusion zone, having survived a catastrophe. Trying to cling to normality, Hazel still practices her yoga while Robin brews parsnip wine. But when their old friend Rose turns up, old memories and buried secrets threaten to spill over, forcing them to confront the limits of their debt to the next generation.
