The full cast has been revealed for As You Like It at Shakespeare’s Globe, directed by Associate Artistic Director Sean Holmes and Charlie Josephine. The production begins performances at the famed open-air venue in August.
One of Shakespeare’s classic comedies, As You Like It follows Rosalind and her cousin Celia, who flee to the Forest of Arden after life at court turns cold and cruel. There they disguise themselves to keep safe. Rosalind accidentally meets her beloved Orlando, and since he doesn’t recognise her in disguise, she convinces him to practice his wooing skills. It’s a funny gender bending comic romp perfect for summer.
The Globe has announced that the principal cast will include: Lola Shalam as Rosalind, Gracie Oddie-James as Celia and Charlie Josephine as Orlando.
