Disney’s The Lion King is heading back to London Zoo this summer for a visually spectacular behind-the-scenes exhibition.
Ever wanted to peek behind the curtain of one of the West End’s most magical shows? Now’s your chance. After the success of its 2025 exhibit, Disney’s The Lion King is giving visitors a sneak peek at what it takes to bring the story to the stage with an access all areas exhibition at London Zoo.
The free exhibition runs across June, Julyand August both for daytime visitors and as part of the popular Zoo Nights series.
Showcasing the masks, puppets and costumes that bring the story to life, iconic characters including Rafiki, Zazu, Mufasa, Simba and Nala will be on display alongside textiles and props. The installation also explores how the production connects the story back to the real-world landscapes, wildlife and communities that inspired it.

This year, partnership has also expanded to include expert-led talks on African wildlife, conservation and sustainability, for which more details are to be announced.
Julie Taymor’s celebrated stage adaptation has been running in London since 1999 and has spawned 29 global productions in nine languages. The Lyceum Theatre production remains one of the West End’s most enduring hits.
