The Tony Award-winning Broadway revival of Stephen Sondheim’s Merrily We Roll Along is officially coming to the small screen, with Netflix set to stream the filmed capture of the production.
Starring Jonathan Groff, Daniel Radcliffe and Lindsay Mendez, the production will be available to stream on Netflix in the US starting on 4 April 2026. While a UK streaming date has not yet been confirmed, fans are hopeful for a simultaneous release following the film’s limited UK cinema run last December.

The award-winning production
Directed by Maria Friedman, this production originated at London’s Menier Chocolate Factory and went on to become a critical and commercial phenomenon at New York Theatre Workshop in 2022, and then at Broadway’s Hudson Theatre.
The filmed version, directed by Friedman, aimed to capture the immersive and intimate nature of her original staging, which won the 2024 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical.
The New York Times praised how Friedman’s staging “brings the intelligence of the songs fully alive.” Read a round-up of reviews here.

Both Jonathan Groff (Franklin Shepard) and Daniel Radcliffe (Charley Kringas) took home Tony Awards for their performances. They were joined by fellow lead Lindsay Mendez as Mary Flynn.
The supporting Broadway cast included Krystal Joy Brown as Gussie Carnegie, Katie Rose Clarke as Beth Shepard, and Reg Rogers as Joe Josephson.
The filmed capture of the show was released by Fathom Entertainment in the UK in December.
The Story of Merrily We Roll Along
With a celebrated score including “Not A Day Goes By” and “Old Friends,” Merrily We Roll Along tells the story of three friends in reverse chronological order. Tracing their lives from disillusioned adulthood back to their hopeful beginnings, the musical remains one of Sondheim and George Furth’s most poignant works.
