George Clooney’s acclaimed Broadway production Good Night, and Good Luck is now available to watch worldwide, with Good Night, and Good Luck: Live from Broadway streaming on Netflix.
The recording captures Clooney’s Tony-nominated performance in the stage adaptation of his 2005 film, which enjoyed a hugely successful limited run on Broadway last year. Co-written by Clooney and Grant Heslov and directed by Tony Award winner David Cromer, the play dramatises broadcast journalist Edward R. Murrow’s historic confrontation with Senator Joseph McCarthy at the height of the Red Scare in 1950’s America.
The Broadway production proved a major box office hit, becoming the first non-musical play in history to achieve a $4 million week on Broadway. Around 155,000 people saw the show live during its New York engagement, with Clooney leading a large ensemble cast that included Ilana Glazer, Clark Gregg, Glenn Fleshler and Paul Gross.
The production also made headlines in June 2025 when CNN aired the penultimate Broadway performance live, marking the first time a Broadway play had been broadcast live on basic cable. The event drew millions of viewers across CNN’s platforms and fuelled renewed speculation about a future international transfer.
Clooney has since hinted that Good Night, and Good Luck could make its way to London, suggesting a potential roadshow that “might end up in London”, although no West End dates or venues have been confirmed. Clooney’s longtime screen collaborator Julia Roberts has also hinted at a possible return to the stage, telling Deadline’s Baz Bamigboye this week that it has been “a long-held dream”.
Good Night, and Good Luck: Live from Broadway is now streaming on Netflix. There is currently no confirmed news on a London run, but further updates are expected in due course.
