Lisa Faulkner and Kym Marsh will lead the UK & Ireland tour of Single White Female, a bold new stage adaptation of the hit 1992 thriller.
Lisa Faulkner (Missing You, The Girl Before, Holby City) returns to the stage for the first time in 21 years to play Allie, starring opposite the previously announced Kym Marsh (Coronation Street, Waterloo Road, Abigail’s Party) as Hedy.
The production, adapted by author and broadcaster Rebecca Reid, opens on 9 January 2026 at Brighton’s Theatre Royal before touring the UK & Ireland until 13 June.
Speaking about joining the production, Faulkner said: “I’m hugely excited to be returning to the stage playing opposite the utterly fantastic Kym Marsh. I remember getting chills watching Single White Female in the cinema back in 1992, so it’s a real thrill to be part of this bold new production. I cannot wait to bring this fascinating story to life and keep audiences around the UK on the edge of their seats!”

In this contemporary reimagining, Allie is a recently divorced mum juggling single parenthood with the launch of her tech start-up. When she advertises for a lodger to ease financial pressures, the seemingly perfect Hedy steps into her life. But as their worlds overlap, boundaries blur and a once ideal arrangement begins to unravel—with chilling consequences.
Full of dark humour, sharp twists and a timely exploration of social-media-era anxieties, this new stage play reinterprets the iconic story as a gripping tale of ambition, obsession and the desperate need for belonging in an increasingly disconnected world.
Rebecca Reid’s adaptation is directed by Gordon Greenberg (Heart of Rock and Roll, Guys & Dolls, The Baker’s Wife) and is from the producer of the hit stage adaptation of The Girl on the Train.
The creative team also includes Designer Morgan Large, Lighting Designer Jason Taylor, and Sound Designer Max Pappenheim.
The tour will open on 9 January 2026 at Brighton’s Theatre Royal, and then tour until June 2026 to Nottingham, Cardiff, York, Manchester, Blackpool, Sheffield, Woking, Cambridge, Cheltenham, London Richmond, Milton Keynes, Liverpool, Birmingham, Bath, Stoke-on-Trent, Glasgow, and Malvern.
