West End star Mazz Murray is set to leave hit ABBA musical Mamma Mia! tonight in London.

Fans of the star will be out in force to say thank you for the music, as Mazz Murray performs at the matinee and evening performances today, 4 October 2025, at the Novello Theatre in London.

It was announced last month that Mazz would be hanging up her dungarees as Donna in the blockbuster musical, with Sara Poyzer taking over in the lead role from Monday 6 October.

Mazz joined the cast of Mamma Mia! in the West End in 2015 playing the role of Tanya. She returned to the show in June 2019 to take up the lead role of Donna Sheridan.

Mazz’s other stage credits include We Will Rock You, Chicago, Fame, Fiddler on the Roof and Sunset Boulevard.

Other new starters in the Mamma Mia! cast from Monday include Nicky Swift as Rosie, Richard Standing as Sam, Daniel Crowder as Harry, Tamlyn Henderson as Bill, Ellie Kingdon as Sophie, George Maddison as Sky, Chloe Gentles as Ali, Foxy Valentine as Lisa, Joshua de La-Garde as Eddie and Benjamin Dawson as Pepper.

They will join current cast members Kate Graham as Tanya and Emma Odell as alternate Donna.

Mamma Mia! recently announced an extension at the Novello Theatre, and is now booking until 26 September 2026.

Mamma Mia! first premiered at London’s Prince Edward Theatre in 1999, and has gone on to be seen by 70 million people worldwide, across over 50 productions in 16 different languages, grossing more than £4.5 billion at the box office.

The show is now the third longest running West End musical of all time, and the fifth longest running production in West End history.

Mamma Mia! has music and lyrics by Benny Andersson & Björn Ulvaeus, and is written by Catherine Johnson, directed by Phyllida Lloyd and choreographed by Anthony Van Laast.

The production is designed by Mark Thompson, with lighting design by Howard Harrison, sound design by Andrew Bruce & Bobby Aitken, and musical supervision, additional material & arrangements by Martin Koch.

The show was also turned into two hugely successful movies, with producer Judy Craymer confirming in May that a third movie is on the way.

Mamma Mia! is now playing at the Novello Theatre in London, booking to 26 September 2026.
