Lyric Hammersmith Theatre has released a striking new trailer for its new staging of Dracula, now playing at the venue through 11 October 2025.
This major new adaptation of Bram Stoker’s classic horror tale comes from playwright Morgan Lloyd Malcolm (Emilia, The Wasp) and is directed by Emma Baggott (A Taste of Honey). The production reimagines the gothic story by placing female voices at the heart of the narrative.
Drawing inspiration from gothic literature and the blood-soaked theatricality of the Grand Guignol, the production promises a chilling theatrical experience filled with gore, illusion, and murderous vampires.
Trailer: Dracula
Leading the cast is Umi Myers (Dope Girls, The Mirror and the Light) as Mina, Mei Mac (My Neighbour Totoro, untitled fck mss s**gon play) as Lucy and Jack Myers (Say Nothing, Masters of the Air) as Jonathan. The cast also features Phoebe Naughton (The Comedy of Errors) as Van Helsing, Macy Seelochan (As You Like It) as Jo, and B Terry (Cabaret) as Renfield. Casting is by Heather Basten CDG.
The story unfolds through the eyes of Mina Harker, the lone survivor of the infamous events. Haunted by unimaginable horrors and determined to be heard, Mina recounts Dracula’s terrifying journey from Transylvania to London. Alongside her allies—and in memory of her lost friend Lucy—she pieces together the truth of Dracula’s monstrous desires. But is this merely a retelling, or a summoning of the dead themselves?
