The global smash-hit musical Mamma Mia! has extended its West End booking period at London’s Novello Theatre to 26 September 2026, with tickets now on sale. The long-running production also confirmed its Christmas and New Year performance schedule for 2025/26.

Since premiering in London in 1999, Mamma Mia! has become a worldwide phenomenon, delighting over 70 million people in more than 50 productions across 16 languages. The feel-good musical, inspired by the songs of ABBA, is now the third longest-running musical in West End history, having celebrated its 26th anniversary earlier this year.

Christmas and New Year 2025/26 schedule

Audiences can look forward to festive performances throughout December and early January, with extra matinees and holiday timings. Highlights include additional shows on Monday 22 December and Tuesday 23 December (3pm and 7.30pm), while there will be no performances on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve. Performances resume on Boxing Day at 7.30pm and run through to Saturday 3 January 2026, with a final holiday weekend double-show on Friday 2 and Saturday 3 January.

A West End favourite

Now a fixture at the Novello Theatre, Mamma Mia! has been seen by over 11 million people in London alone, playing more than 10,000 performances and continuing to break box office records. The joyous story of love, family and friendship set on a sunny Greek island features ABBA’s timeless hits including “Dancing Queen,” “Super Trouper” and “The Winner Takes It All.”

New cast from October 2025

The show will also welcome a new West End cast from Monday 6 October 2025, led by Sara Poyzer as Donna, alongside Nicky Swift as Rosie, Richard Standing as Sam, Daniel Crowder as Harry, Tamlyn Henderson as Bill, Ellie Kingdon as Sophie and George Maddison as Sky. Kate Graham continues as Tanya, with Emma Odell stepping up to play Donna at selected performances.

Produced by Judy Craymer, the show is written by Catherine Johnson, directed by Phyllida Lloyd and choreographed by Anthony Van Laast.

Mamma Mia! is now playing at the Novello Theatre in London, booking to 26 September 2026.

Mamma Mia! is also setting out on a new UK tour from October 2025, initially playing Southampton, Bristol, Oxford, Edinburgh, Swansea, Aberdeen, Newcastle, Manchester, and Leicester.
