Much-loved singer and actor Joe McElderry is set to play more dates as Pharaoh in the new UK & Ireland tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Joe was originally set to star in the show at the Sunderland Empire Theatre, Newcastle Theatre Royal, Canterbury Marlowe Theatre, Nottingham Royal Theatre, Belfast Grand Opera House, Leeds Grand Theatre, Blackpool Winter Gardens, Woking New Victoria Theatre and Plymouth Theatre Royal.

He will now also join the tour at the Manchester Opera House, Bristol Hippodrome, Southend Cliffs Pavilion, Liverpool Empire, Cardiff Wales Millennium Centre, Glasgow King’s Theatre, and Milton Keynes Theatre.

The Joseph tour kicks off this Christmas 2024 at the Edinburgh Playhouse starring legendary pop star Donny Osmond as Pharaoh, from 3 to 29 December 2024 only.

The show also features West End stars Christina Bianco (The Wizard of Oz) as Narrator, and Adam Filipe (Titanic The Musical, Les Misérables) as Joseph, with Hugh Cotton as Reuben and Will Haswell as Simeon, alongside Aaron Archer, Bella Baldock, Daniel Bowskill, Imogen Bowtell, Taylor Bridges, Joseph Browlie-Johnson, Joseph Craig, Davide Fienauri, Ellie Greenway, Oliver Hawes, Kiera Haynes, Siobhan James, Ben Lancaster, Nicole Lupino, Bradley Perret, Harvey Shulver, Jessica Sutton, Charley Warburton, Jenna Warne and Alex Woodward.

The children’s company are Luke Beggs, Sofija Bele, Sidney Bond, Chloe Boyle, Coco Chapman, Charlie Cox, Max Crisp, Shae Marie David, Isabelle Chiara Dawodu, Josh Desai, Erin Donovan, Jasper Eglin, Safia Francis, Ernest Fransella, Marisia Georgiannaki, Poppy Graham, Coco-Lili Hodder, Poppy Kunorubwe, Eliott Marsden, Alex Neophytou, Shyanne Ononiwu, Rio-Blake Power, Leia O’Sullivan, Zachary Richardson, Daniel Rodriguez Castillo, Felix Schmitt, Dexter Seaton, Azalea-Belle Sharp, Arthur Tennant and Raine Williamson.

This production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat first premiered at the West End’s London Palladium, and is again directed by Laurence Connor (School of Rock, Miss Saigon, Chess, Cinderella, Les Misérables), alongside choreographer JoAnn M Hunter, set and costume design by Morgan Large, lighting design by Ben Cracknell, sound design by Gareth Owen, Musical Supervisor John Rigby, and casting by David Grindrod.
