Shakespeare’s Globe in London has revealed casting for its forthcoming summer production of The Comedy of Errors.
Back for a second year, the cast features Daniel Adeosun (Trouble in Mind) as Antipholus of Syracuse, Gabrielle Brooks (Once on This Island, Get Up Stand Up!) as Adriana, and Caleb Roberts (King Lear) as Antipholus of Ephesus, alongside Roman Hayeck-Green (Sex Education, Empire of Light) as Officer / Cover, Shalisha James-Davis (Punch) as Luciana, Christopher Logan (The Magistrate) as Angelo, Pheobe Naughton (Wildfire Road) as Courtesan / First Merchant, Danielle Phillips (The Comedy of Errors) as Second Merchant / Luce, Martin Quinn (Star Trek: Strange New Worlds) as Dromio of Syracuse, Anita Reynolds (Absolute Hell) as Abbess, Paul Rider (Power of Sail) as Egeon, Rhys Rusbatch (Three Billy Goats Gruff) as Duke / Pinch, Lizzie Schenk (Good) as Ephesian / Cover, and Sam Swann (Gulliver’s Travels) as Dromio of Ephesus.
The Comedy of Errors is co-directed by Sean Holmes (Much Ado About Nothing) and Naeem Hayat (Burnt at the Stake), with designer Paul Wills, music by Grant Olding, costume supervisor Jacquie Davies, fight director Maisie Carter, movement director Tamsin Hurtado-Clarke, and casting director Becky Paris.
The Comedy of Errors brings the joy and chaos of Elizabethan London The Globe theatre in Shakespeare’s wild comedy about rival cities, long-lost siblings and mistaken identities.
This production last year at Shakespeare’s Globe garnered strong reviews from the critics, with the Guardian, Times, Telegraph and Evening Standard all giving the show four stars.
The Comedy of Errors is playing at Shakespeare’s Globe from 21 August to 27 October 2024.
