Casting has been announced for Julie: The Musical which returns to London’s off-West venue The Other Palace this Summer.
Taking on the titular character will be Sam Kearney-Edwardes (Tit Swingers, MTFestUK 2024), alongside Zachary Pang (Spring Awakening, Pangdemonium Theatre Company) as d’Albert, and Melinda Orengo (Police Cops: The Musical, Southwark Playhouse) as Marie. They are joined on stage by the multi-talented writer and composer of the musical, Abey Bradbury (Tit Swingers, MTFestUK 2024), who will portray Thevenard.
Following a successful first run last year and a limited UK tour, Julie: The Musical returns to The Other Palace Theatre this June for a strictly limited run in the Studio space. Nominated at the Offies for Best New Musical 2024, this original musical from Le Gasp! Productions is directed and produced by Conor Dye with book, lyric and music by Abey Bradbury.
The show is based on queer icon, Julie D’Augbigny and is billed as a “hilarious and witty celebration” of D’Augbigny’s life; the show features live music, comedy, tap dancing, sword fights, twerking nuns and kazoo choruses.
Julie: The Musical runs from 13 – 30 June 2024 at The Other Palace Theatre London.
